Janice McDonald grew up in the house her grandparents built when they came to Myrtle Beach in the 1930s. She and her sisters spent their days combing the beach and their evenings listening to the ocean outside their bedroom windows. Janice left to become a producer and sometimes reporter for CNN, where she garnered numerous awards, including eight Emmy nominations. She currently owns her own Atlanta-based production company, J-Mac Productions, and has produced material for the Travel Channel, ABC, NBC, CBS, and VH-1, among others. She also is a contributing editor for travelgirl magazine and writes for numerous publications, such as Atlanta Style and Design, South Carolina Homes and Interiors, and Delta Sky. As a writer and producer, she continues to travel the world, but she considers herself a Carolina girl in every sense of the words and calls Myrtle Beach her true home.
